The organisers of IWGPM 2016 are inviting scientists from biology, physics, mathematics, computer science, and related fields to participate in the International Workshop on Genotype-Phenotype Maps 2016, to be held at the Sainsbury Laboratory, University of Cambridge from 8-9 September 2016. Both talks and posters are welcome.

The question how genotypes map to phenotypes lies at the heart of modern biology. In recent years the general properties of genotype-phenotype (GP) maps have been studied in a variety of contexts, including RNA secondary structure, the HP model of protein folding, and biological self-assembly, among others. These properties of GP maps, such as the distribution of genotypes per phenotype, the evolvability and robustness of genotypes and phenotypes, and the connectivity of neutral components, can strongly affect evolutionary outcomes.
IWGPM 2016 will provide an interdisciplinary forum for researchers from a range of fields to compare and discuss ideas, techniques and advances in the construction and analysis of genotype-phenotype maps in different biological systems, from the complexities of real proteins and RNA secondary structure to abstract analytical and computational models. At this exciting time, when experimental, computational, and analytical approaches are advancing rapidly, we hope that this meeting will facilitate communication between theoretical and experimental researchers and inform all interested parties of the advances and available tools from different facets of evolutionary research.
